“Cuban Christmas is a celebration of cultures, connection and the music that makes the Christmas season magical,” says Sarah Willis, hornist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Together with her Cuban ensemble, the Sarahbanda, she invites listeners to a very special Christmas celebration. The colourful, irresistible energy of Cuban music meets timeless Christmas classics such as “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, “Feliz Navidad” and many others – some of them featuring vocals by Carlos Calunga, known from the legendary Buena Vista Social Club. 

The album includes a “joyful mix of favourites like ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Silent Night’, all infused with the irresistible grooves of salsa, mambo, bolero and son.” Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 also come alive in fresh new ways with the distinctive Cuban flair.
